Manitoulin Living
Manitoulin Living is an initiative designed to attract new residents to Manitoulin Island. We have discovered that quite often people who visit the Island develop lifelong relationships with the area.
The Manitoulin Living Association adopted the slogan "Come Home to the Island" as a result of extensive research and consultations. We found this term to be most fitting, as newcomers and people whose family may have lived here for generations proudly refer to this sanctuary as home.

100.7 FM "The Island"
We are Manitoulin Island's first and only local radio station. CFRM first aired September, 2002 after it received its initial licensing approval from the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) as a 5 watt developmental station. The first song hitting the airwaves was Boston's "Don't Look Back". In 2004, CFRM submitted an application to CRTC to increase our signal to 50 watts with hopes to reach the entire Island. As a result of mountainous terrain, 50 watts was not enough to reach every point of the Island. One of our mandates is to be a community based station providing emergency services where necessary. So once again, another application was submitted to the CRTC to increase our power to 1850 watts. CRTC granted approval to increase our power thereby allowing us to broadcast from Sault St. Marie south to Perry Sound and all of Manitoulin Island; thus creating the new 100.7 FM "The Island", hot new country, Manitoulin Style.
